In early December 2019 a novel species of Coronavirus was found to cause illness in a province of China. Since then the disease has spread all over the world causing hundreds of thousands of cases of illness and many deaths. The World Health Organization determined it is now a pandemic. Minimizing the spread of the virus is the primary priority for everyone.

Medical facilities are in short supply of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as masks, face shields, gowns, and other supplies. Global efforts to bridge the need for supplies with materials that are suitable is a priority to protect medical personnel, prevent infected individuals from spread the virus further, and for curtailing the massive death and illness.
